TRADITIONAL
SIAMESE HISTORY
The Royal Cat of Siam in
Thailand, gained prominence in 1871. Two Traditional Siamese were
successfully shown at London’s Crystal palace. Sir Owen Gould,
1884, serving as English Consul-General to Bangkok brought two
Traditional Siamese to his family in England. These Traditional
Siamese were given to Gould by the King of Siam from the Royal
Cattery. King Chulalongkorn later gave Traditional Siamese to his
favored guests.
The first Traditional
Siamese came to the United States in 1890. They quickly gained
recognition in the U.S. and by 1920 were enjoying considerable
popularity. Many people are attracted to the Traditional and
Classic Siamese because of their unique personality and beauty! The
Traditional and Classic Siamese accent their beauty by displaying a
variety of color points: Seal, Chocolate, Blue and Lilac.
